| 6-6 guard Donnell Taylor of Okaloosa-
Walton CC was a first-team All-Panhandle performer as a juco freshman as he averaged 12 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists and two steals. He was selected as a preseason second team All-American. Taylor led Montgomery (AL) Sidney-Lanier High School to the Alabama High School state championship in 2000 and he and twin brother Ronnell were both named all-state. He is an athletic guard with excellent leaping ability. Taylor is an explosive player who plays tough defense and is a good outside threat. He is a very good rebounder for his size. The Taylor twins signed with UAB in the early signing period and led the Raiders to a 30-2 mark and a spot in the NJCAA Tournament. They were ranked #1 in the NJCAA poll in January after starting the season 19-0. He was named Panhandle Conference and Region 8 Player of the Year as he averaged 21.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game
