2007 In his first year as a starter, the sophomore quickly established himself as a player in week two against Auburn. After forcing a fumble, recovering a fumble and intercepting a pass, and was named the Nagurski Defensive Player of the Week. Allen led the secondary and was fourth on the team with 78 tackles, 57 of them solo with 2 TFL's, led the team with 3 FF, was tied for 2nd with 4 picks, and also had 1 FF, with 3 pass break-ups.
2006 Arrived at USF as a quarterback but was quickly moved into secondary when coaches realized he had the athletic ability to compete right away as a true freshman. Worked as a situational backup in the secondary and also on special teams. Had two tackles, both coming in USF’s Bowl win over East Carolina (12/23). Played in nine of USF’s 13 games, missing four mid-year games with a quadriceps injury. Will compete for the starting free safety job in 2007.
Cape Coral High School:He was a Class 5A honorable mention all-state, and was Ranked 67th top prospect in Florida by Orlando Sentinel. He was also ranked the 100th top quarterback in the nation by Scout.com. In his senior season Allen was 107 of 181 for 1343yards with 9 TD's and 5 int's, he also carried the ball 71 times for 225 yards w/3 TD's, and on defense he had 76 tackles 20 solo, and 4 int's. A great athelete, he also lettered three times in basketball, and averaged 16.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals in his senior season, and had six 20-plus scoring games including a high of 28 against South Ft. Myers. He also lettered and again in Track and field.
Allen shredded opposing defenses as a junior. He threw for 1,613 yards and 14 touchdowns, compared to just seven picks. He also ran for a few hundred more yards and four touchdowns. He's also a top notch basketball player. |
