Entering his third year in the Husker program, John Turek (pronounced TUR-eck) returns looking to continue his progress on offense and dominance on defense.

Nebraska’s most athletic big man, Turek made strides on both ends of the court last year, but will be expected to contribute even more heavily on offense for the Huskers to find success.

Turek ranked second on the team in rebounding last year after becoming the first freshman in school history to lead NU in rebounding average in 2002. Turek has a chance to pick up his 500th point, 500th rebound and 100th blocked shot this season, joining a select few in Husker history. He has led NU in blocked shots each of the past two years and is on pace to rank among the top five shot blockers in NU history by year's end.
