Phog.net has the inside scoop on the party of the summer – Bill’s Basketball Boogie. It’s your chance to celebrate a national championship, take home some one-of-a-kind memorabilia, dance, drink, and help out a great cause.
It will be the happening party of the summer in the Kansas City area.
Bill and Cindy Self cordially invite you to Bill’s Basketball
Boogie, June 7th at Kansas Speedway. It’s your chance to eat,
drink, and dance for a good cause. All the proceeds benefit their
Assists Foundation.
But wait. There’s more.
It’s a chance for you to celebrate KU’s national
championship with Kansas coaches and players, plus you’ll rub
shoulders with celebrities and KU alumni. The dance floor will be an
Allen Fieldhouse replica court. The music will come from Sawyer Brown,
and Disco Dick and the Mirrorballs. The tickets do come with a warning
though: bring comfortable shoes because there will be plenty of
dancing. There might even be a special performance. Let’s
just say you’ll also see some of your KU favorites in a brand
new light - surprises await all those who attend.
One-Of-A-Kind
Memorabilia*****
The Boogie will give KU fans the chance to bid on memorabilia they
won’t find anywhere else in live and silent auctions.
It’s every diehard KU fan’s dream come true. Items
that allow you even more than bragging rights!
LIVE AUCTION ITEMS
You could leave the Speedway with a Final
Four Package - a special collection of memoirs of
KU’s title to call your own. Its part of the live auction and
it’s your chance to own a courtside chair, a piece of the
court, a strand of the net, a program, and an autographed picture of
Coach Self.
For those of you into jewelry how about a chance at your very own National Championship ring?
1992, 1923, 1952, 1988, 2008 -- KU owns five national titles and you
could own a collage of
jerseys from all five Most Outstanding Players. Wilt,
Born, Lovellette, Manning, and Mario all included.
Coach Self and his wife Cindy will also host a private party at their home
for you and seven of your friends. Evan Williams Catering will provide
the food but you’ll get to know Coach Self and his staff even
better if you’re lucky enough to win this auction item.
Want to be a special
guest at the ESPY’s? It’s a first
class trip with hotel and airfare included to Los Angeles’
brand new Nokia theatre. KU is nominated for three different awards and
you could have your own set of tickets (2) plus an invitation to the
after party which includes a who’s-who of the sports world.
Remember when Michael Jordan returned to the NBA and donned the number 45? There
are only THREE of these autographed
jerseys worn by MJ in the world. One resides in the Hall
of Fame, Michael has one, and one will be auctioned off June 7th at
Bill’s Basketball Boogie. It could be yours.
For the diehard KU fan…be there when the season begins and
spend Late Night with
Bill. You’ll be handed an itinerary to remember
starting with two tickets for reserved premium seating for Late Night
in mid-October. You’ll dine in the Naismith room with players
and coaches. Oh by the way, it doesn’t stop with Late Night.
You’ll get two tickets for every home game plus a parking
pass for the 2008-2009 season, and just to keep you in the KU hoops
mood, you’ll take home a signed basketball from all the
players.
But even before Late Night happens, how about a trip to Canada with
Coach Self and the 2008-2009 Jayhawks? Two lucky winners will accompany
the team to Ontario, Canada August 29-September 1. You’ll
stay at the team hotel and join the guys for a team meal.
SILENT AUCTION ITEMS
The silent auction is also jam-packed with more one-of-a-kind
memorabilia. These are just some of the highlights.
- an autographed Sports
Illustrated cover from Mario Chalmers.
- jerseys signed by Dwayne Wade and Shaquille O’Neal.
- a pair of autographed shoes from Greg Ostertag.
- chance to win groceries for a year
- tickets to the Self’s suite for the KU-KState football game
- a Garmin Navigation system
- for football fans, or Dancing
with the Stars fans, there’s an autographed
Jason Taylor helmet.
And one more thing…Would you like to be a part of
NBC’s newest reality show? There will be a casting call for
“Momma’s Boy”, Executive Producer Ryan
Seacrest’s latest show. NBC is searching for moms who are
ready to help their eligible son pick the right woman.
Now that you’ve heard the details and seen the auction items
you understand why 1,000 people are expected to attend the party of the
summer. The good news is that you still have a chance to be a part of
it. Some tables are still available and individual tickets are still
available. You won’t want to miss a unique experience
you’d never be able to replicate anywhere else. If
you’re a KU fan there’s no better place to be than
Bill’s Basketball Boogie, June 7th, at Kansas Speedway.
