Hinrich has the ball slapped away by ISU's Jake Sullivan
Would you have believed?
If we had told you that Jeff Graves and Aaron Miles would outscore the combo
of Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison - would you have believed us? Heck,
if we told you that would happen AND we would still win, would
you have still believed us? You're so gullible.
Though not the Jayhawk's high scorer for the afternoon, the inspired play of
one Jeff Graves was indeed a huge factor in today's second round win in the
Big 12 Tournament in Dallas. Graves had 16 points, 12 rebounds (5 offensive)
and only three fouls to show for his afternoon of labor at the American Airlines
Center. A truly partisan Kansas crowd cheered Graves all afternoon as
he skied for rebounds and defended the paint.
Along with Graves, Kansas guard Aaron Miles also added 16 points, hitting 7
of 10 from the field. Fellow sophomore Keith Langford was high man for
KU, dropping in 19 points shooting 67% from the field.
ISU's defense focused on the duo of Hinrich and Collison, holding each to 14
points. Collison grabbed 8 boards and Hinrch dished 5 assists in the effort.
Kansas Marches On
With today's win over Iowa State, Kansas moves on to tomorrow's Big 12 Tournament
