A Balanced Attack
It wasn't superhuman effort from the two starting seniors today that led Kansas
past Nebraska 81-51, but rather a blue-collar effort from the entire starting
lineup. Four of KU's starters scored in double figures, led by 17 point
efforts by both Keith Langford and Kirk Hinrich. Fellow starters Nick
Collison and Aaron Miles each had 14 points, with Collison adding 9 rebounds
and Miles tallying 10 assists on the afternoon.
Junior Jeff Graves had a steady, but foul-shortened, effort grabbing 6 boards
and scoring 5 points.
"I would call this a workman-like effort today against Nebraska,"
Jayhawk head coach Roy Williams said. "We had a really nice three-minute
stretch during the middle of the first half that opened the game up for us.
Nebraska made the decision to go box-and-one on Nick and gave us the outside
shot today. We didn't shoot as well, but we made some plays." More

The Jayhawks handed Nebraska (9-11 overall, 1-6 conference) their worst loss
in the Devaney Center since its opening in 1976.
Nebraska was led in scoring by junior Andrew Drevo with 15 points.
