Kansas coach Bill Self scored big Thursday morning, as heralded shooting guard prospect Xavier Henry announced that he would be playing basketball at Kansas next season.

In a press conference this morning at Putnam City High School, Xavier Henry verbally committed to play basketball at Kansas next season.

Xavier, a McDonald's All American, had first committed to Memphis, but opted out of his commitment when then head coach John Calipari accepted the coaching job at Kentucky.  Self and Calipari were then locked in yet another heated contest to land the services of Henry.

Xavier is Scout.com's #2 shooting guard, and #6 prospect, overall.

Henry will join guard Elijah Johnson and forward Thomas Robinson at KU next season.

Xavier left a little drama at the end of the presser, not formally committng that his brother will join him at KU.
