Simien's right-shoulder injury is deja-vous for the big man, as it's eerily
similar to the injury he suffered to the same shoulder at the close of his high
school career.
Is this the last we'll see from Wayne on the court this season?
"It could [be]. But that's the last thing I'm thinking about right
now,'' Simien said in an interview
from ESPN.com. "I'm trying to stay as positive as I can. Of course,
it's frustrating. But I'm going to do everything possible to get back.''
Wayne is the leading rebounder for the Jayhawks, tallying nearly 10 rebounds
per game and scoring more than 17 rebounds points per contest.

Coach Williams stated in weekly
Big 12 Conference Call that Wayne had been spending significant time shooting
the basketball. He went on to say that Wayne will be evaluated "mid-week",
and that as of right now he doesn't forsee Wayne playing against Arizona
on Saturday.
Update (Monday, January 6, 12:47 am, CST)
- Simien left with the team earlier today for the Iowa State game, but no
further updates on his medical condition are as yet available.

postgame comments from kuathletics.com, "It stopped being fun for
our family sitting on that bench. Wayne's shoulder is dislocated. It is the
same shoulder that he had surgery on during his senior year of high school.
Now the shoulder is back in place and they have it strapped up. The
doctors will look at him again tonight. It is too early to say what
might happen. It would all be guesses at this time. After talking to Dr. Magee,
we will not do anything for the next week to 10 days nothing will happen.
We will just see how he responds to some rehab during that time. The doctors
do not know and I don't know so there is no sense in guessing. He went up
to block the shot and his hand hit the rim. That jarring motion is what popped
it out."
