The home-state is happy to keep Darian Kelly near his family for the next few years to play his college football. The Jayhawks reel in a two-sport prep star.

Darian Kelly, from Girard, Kansas, made his college decision this week to stay near his family and friends. The free safety loves defense after spending time in 2007 on both sides of the ball.

Kelly rushed for close to 400 yards as a junior in only three games after a season-ending injury.

Kelly has a solid reputation as a hardcourt star for his high school squad, but it's on the gridiron where he will take his game to the next level in Lawrence, Kansas.

Phog.net will have an interview with Darian Kelly in the very near future to discuss his early decision.
