Kansas then opened up the second half by holding Boston College without a field goal for the first 4:37, stretching their lead to 55-31. The Eagles did close the gap to 14 midway through the second half, however, the Jayhawks responded by scoring the game's next eight points. Darnell Jackson started the run, setting his career-high with a lay-up on KU's next possession. A full court press forced two BC turnovers and after four more points from Darrell Arthur, and a Sherron Collins steal and breakaway lay-up, the Jayhawks led 71-49 with just over six minutes remaining. The Jayhawks return home to round out the non-conference schedule with a 7 p.m. matchup with Loyola (Md.) on Tuesday night.
