The Jayhawks held a 31-27 lead at the break, but Razorbacks guard Ronnie Brewer scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the second half to slip past Kansas.
KU took a one point lead with 30 seconds left in the game after a C.J. Giles dunk. Arkansas' Dontell Jefferson scored 12 seconds later to put the Razorbacks up for good. KU's final two shot attempts were blocked.
Rush's 20 points came on 8-of-20 shooting from the field. He also added three assists and a blocked shot on the afternoon. Senior guard Jeff Hawkins had a career-high 10 assists to go along with three points and four rebounds.
The Jayhawks will now play host school Chaminade tomorrow afternoon in their final game of the tournament.
