*** Breaking News ***

Phog.net has just learned that C.J. Giles has given a commitment to play basketball at the University of Kansas.

In what turned out to be a whilrwind courtship, C.J. Giles appeared to like what he saw on his official visit to Kansas over the weekend, and he informed the coaching staff of his intent to play basketball at KU.

Giles had originally committed to Miami, but was released from his Letter of Intent earlier this month. Giles had visited Washington the weekend before his KU visit, and until recently had appeared to be a heavy lean to playing his basketball at UW.

C.J. is the #10 rated center in the class of 2004, and joins Alexander Galindo, Darnell Jackson, Alexander Kaun and Russell Robinson as freshmen for Kansas next season.

Phog.net and Prepstars recruitng analyst Eric Bossi adds, "C.J. is another big body that Kansas can add to a farily young big man rotation next season. At 6-10, Giles should prove to be an effective defensive player, blocking shots and bringing some scoring tools like the jump hook to really help the Jayhawks down low next year.

Also, targeting and landing a kid like C.J. at this time of the year is huge, and should prove to be a huge get for Coach Self and the Jayhawks."
