The Jayhawks had a relatively easy time keeping pace early with the "fastest 40 minutes in basketball." Less than six minutes into the game the Jayhawks went on a 10 point unanswered run, taking an 18-6 lead.

Midway into the first half Simien was benched briefly with fouls. Ultimately Simien scored 30 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished nine dimes.

The Jayhawks ended the half leading 56-41.

Keith Langford had nine points, four rebounds and five assists while Jeff Graves tallied 13 points and 8 boards.

Michael Lee had five points while Christian Moody, Jeff Hawkins, and Omar Wilkes also scored. It was the first time this season the Jayhawks scored 100 points.

Kansas will face the winner of the Georgia Tech/Nevada contest in the regional finals of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.
