Kansas is playing its final home game this year and looking to build momentum heading into the postseason. For Senior Night the Jayhawks take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 6:30 p.m.

The Jayhawks have sole possession of third place in the Big 12 Conference and are coming off a 79-58 win over Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon in Allen Fieldhouse. KU, which has gone 7-5 in its last 12 games, wants to close out the regular-season on a roll to build momentum heading into postseason play.

"This team has gone through some adversity. They haven't gone through as much as what a lot of teams have gone through but they aren't used to losing four conference games," said Bill Self.

"I think they have responded very well recently. I thought they responded in Texas better even though we didn't play great. I thought our energy level was much better in Austin."

Kansas has battled the injury bug all year, as Michael Lee missed nine games with a broken right collarbone and David Padgett missed a pair of games with a stress fracture in his foot. In addition, Wayne Simien has been extremely limited in practice due to a sore groin and J.R. Giddens has also been hampered by a nagging foot injury.

Now Padgett is doubtful for Wednesday's game after badly spraining his right ankle against the Sooners on Sunday.

"He's definitley going to be on crutches for awhile. I can't anticipate him being available on Wednesday -- Sunday would be a question mark," said Bill Self.

"Hopefully we can have him back for sure for the Big 12 Turnament. It's still wishful thinking that he will get back sooner than that."

The Cornhuskers have won two straight games and five of their last seven. NU is looking to sweep the regular-season series from KU for the first time since 1999.

NU is led by Nate Johnson, who scores 13.5 points per game on 49.5 percent shooting from the field. John Turek chips in with 9.1 points and a team-high 5.6 boards per game. As a team, Nebraska scores 70.0 points per game on 46.9 percent shooting from the floor.

Wednesday's meeting will be the 225th all-time between Kansas and Nebraska, with the Jayhawks holding a 153-71 series lead.
