When the Kansas Jayhawks travel to Austin later this season to face Texas, they’ll do it presumably under the afternoon sun, as it was announced that the game will kick off at 2:30, Saturday November 2nd from Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
The game will be broadcasted within the State of Kansas by the Jayhawk Television Network, as well as on the Longhorn Network, nationally.
Last year, Kansas nearly pulled off a shocking upset of the Longhorns in Lawrence, before Texas rallied to score a 21-17 victory.
The game will mark the Jayhawk Network’s second broadcast of the season. In addition, they will televised the season opener for a second consecutive year on September 7th, when the Jayhawks square off against South Dakota.
In addition, this will be the second consecutive Kansas trip to Austin, in which both the Longhorn and Jayhawk Network will telelvised the game. The same setup occurred in 2011, when Texas shutout Kansas 43-0.
Statewide coverage plans for the Jayhawk Television Network games will be released soon. It is currently available in the Kansas City area on Metro Sports via Time Warner Cable and Comcast, and on WOW in Lawrence.
