Lewis told us earlier in the week that he was hesitant to talk about recruiting and rightfully so was focused on competing in the Texas Class 5A Division I playoffs. DeSoto has a quarterfinal game at 2 p.m. Saturday at SMU's Ford Stadium against Southlake Carroll.
"He is committed to Oklahoma State," said Mr. Lewis when asked if he had committed to any school. "He committed to them a month ago."
The 6-0, 180-pound Lewis is a speedster who also excels in track at DeSoto. He had an interception early in the game in the first round of the playoffs against Killeen Harker Heights that set up an Eagles touchdown drive.
"I really want to hold off talking about recruiting until after my team has won the championship," said Lewis earlier this week.
"It was his decision and I let him make the decision because it is the next four to five years of his life," said Mr. Lewis when asked what prompted Taylor Lewis to decide on Oklahoma State.
