Roberson selects the 'Cuse

The pick is in for Tyler Roberson and it has Jim Boeheim smiling.

It was one of the toughest recruiting battles of the fall. Two rivals went after it with a challenge from one of the nation's blue blood programs, but at the end of the day Tyler Roberson decided to go with the Syracuse Orange.

At almost 6-foot-8 and 200 pounds, Roberson brings a lot of versatility to the game of basketball. He has played both on the wing and inside over the course of his high school and AAU career, and now he will be doing the same playing in the ACC with Syracuse.

Roberson announced his commitment on ESPN by saying, "I am going to Syracuse."

He continued, "They are going into the ACC next year and Coach Boeheim is a really good coach."

The Orange held off a strong charge from Villanova and then also an effort from Kansas to secure the commitment of Roberson, who is the No. 49 prospect in the 2013 class.

It is a big decision for Syracuse as the Orange have been looking for a big wing who can potentially replace C.J. Fair in the 2013 class, and now they have it in Roberson.

By committing Roberson becomes the fifth member of Syracuse's 2013 class. Five-star Tyler Ennis leads the way, and has already been joined by three-star prospects Ron Patterson, B.J. Johnson, and Chinonso Obokoh.
