You have to like the way class of 2013 recruit Joel Embiid has handled his recruitment. From the beginning, Embiid has only looked to grow as a basketball player and that's exactly how he has approached his recruitment.
This past weekend, Embiid concluded his official visits, taking a trip to Milwaukee to visit Marquette. The visit also gave Embiid a chance to sit down and go over the process with former UCLA standout and current Milwaukee Bucks forward Luc Mbah a Moute. Embiid's high school coach Justin Harden said on Friday that Mbah a Moute has been a key figure in Embiid's life and will play a role in making sure that he makes the right decision in picking a school.
"Luc has been very important to Joel throughout this whole process and has given him guidance as he's been recruited."
The schools who have recruited Embiid have also reached out to Mbah a Moute during the process, some even flying up to sit down with him.
Harden said Embiid was looking forward to getting the chance to sit down with Mbah a Moute before he returned to Gainesville, Florida, where he would have the chance to talk to Harden about making a decision, which he hopes to do soon.
A decision could come as early as this week or come during the early signing period, which begins November 14th and lasts until the 21st.
Harden says Embiid doesn't want to prolong the process because, he's ready to move on and focus on being a better basketball player and student with the high school season fast approaching.
