Funeral arrangements for former West Virginia head football coach Bill Stewart have been set.

The public will be able to pay their respects at the Morgantown Event Center in Morgantown, W. Va., from 2:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24.

On Friday, May 25, a private service will be held in Morgantown at 10:00 a.m. at St. Franci deSales Catholic Church. The funeral procession will then proceed to Stewart's hometown of New Martinsville, where an honorary salute will occur at Magnolia High School's football field at 4:00 p.m. Following that, Stewart will be laid to rest at North View Cemetery in New Martinsville, where both of his parents are interred.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Bill Stewart Memorial Community Fund, C/O the Greater Morgantown Community Trust, P.O. Box 409, Morgantown, WV 26507. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com.

Stewart, 59, was stricken with a heart attack and passed away while playing golf on Monday afternoon. The head coach at West Virginia from 2008-10, as well as the interim coach for the Fiesta Bowl following the 2007 regular season, Stewart compiled a 28-12 record. His winning percentage of .700 is the fifth-best mark in WVU history.
