Last week, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri and Oklahoma State all stopped by Stilwell (KS) Blue Valley to check in on Clay Rhodes.
But the 6-foot-6, 265-pound offensive tackle is rapidly closing in on the end of his personal recruiting process.
"I think I'm going to commit within the next week," Rhodes said. "I have a top three right now. Number one is Missouri, number two is Oklahoma State and number three is Arizona State."
What sets those three programs apart? A combination of factors, but in the end it all comes back to comfort level.
"I've definitely felt most comfortable with the coaches on my visits at those three schools," he explained. "I feel I have the best opportunity to excel both as a student and an athlete at those three schools. The relationships that I've developed with the head coach and position coaches and all the coaches I've talked to felt different than all the other schools."
Check back with Scout.com this week as Rhodes prepares to make his decision.
