Well, this is a big one.
The list of visitors for 'Late Night in the Phog' - the annual season-opening blowout at the University of Kansas, set this year for Oct. 14 - was impressive prior to Tuesday, laden heavily with prospects in the Class of 2013.
Tuesday, however, word began to spread that Head Coach Bill Self and his staff had landed a visit from one of the biggest fish in the Class of 2012, in Kaleb Tarczewski. Scout.com national recruiting analysts Evan Daniels and Josh Gershon reported he will make the trip to Lawrence, Kan. for Late Night.
The five-star, 7-foot center has long been down to two schools - the Jayhawks and the Wildcats of Arizona. Consequently, Tarczewski will visit Tucson the following weekend, to take in the program's Red and Blue scrimmage.
With Wichita (KS) Heights power forward Perry Ellis recently added to the fold - the elite Class of 2012 prospect committed to the Jayhawks last week - and Charlottesville (VA) The Miller School guard Andrew White completing his own official visit to Kansas last weekend, the Jayhawks have put themselves in solid position for an outstanding signing class if things fall their way. Tarczewski is obviously an important part of that plan.
