"Brock Berglund has decided to change to modified class scheduling this semester," Gill said, via release. "This change will allow him to still be eligible this fall. Due to personal circumstances we have decided it is in his best interest to come in the summer with the rest of the outstanding 2011 recruiting class. Brock is committed to being a student-athlete at the University of Kansas."
Previously, Berglund had been enrolled at Kansas and was attending classes, making him eligible for spring football.
Coming off a season in which quarterback play was wildly inconsistent, the talented Berglund, a three-star prospect from Highlands Ranch (CO) Valor Christian High School, was expected to step in and battle for the starting job immediately with incumbents Quinn Mecham and Jordan Webb.
While missing out on spring drills certainly doesn't extinguish those hopes, it does give Mecham and Webb a valuable head start on the talented freshman
"I am committed to being a part of the Kansas football program and am excited to join my teammates this summer," Berglund said.
